Help Keep Our Streets Clean – Join Us as a Mechanical Sweeper Driver!
We’re looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious Mechanical Sweeper Driver to join our street cleansing team. In this key role, you’ll operate specialist sweeping vehicles to maintain clean and tidy roads, pavements, and public spaces across the borough. If you have a strong work ethic, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in contributing to a cleaner environment, we’d love to hear from you.
About you:
As a Mechanical Sweeping Driver, you’ll play a key role in keeping Merton’s streets and public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming. Operating specialist sweeping vehicles, you’ll help deliver high standards of cleanliness across the borough, supporting the council’s commitment to quality public services and civic pride. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing of the community and the appearance of our local environment.
We’re looking for someone with:

Experience in operating mechanical sweepers or similar vehicles in a frontline service.
- A clean C1 driving licence, full CPC and digital driver tachograph card.

A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

A flexible approach and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
