Job summary
Acting as physical and digital interface to internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of the Stations Communications Strategy.
Management of site access system.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
- Coordinating and supporting delivery of Station engagement events
- Management of the site access system (Main Guardroom Passes & Permits)
- Acting as contingency pass issuer during periods of degraded functionality
- Processing visit requests and advising visit project officers on required procedures
- Maintaining Media and Engagement information and publicity (eg SharePoint, records management).
- Supporting the production of social media content and the delivery of station media events
- Administrative support to main guardroom and engagement office including ordering stationary, updating of Sharepoint pages, recording and following up work service requests
- Update and maintenance of Building Custodian lists and key holder permissions.
- Role is split between the Main Guardroom and the Engagement Office
Person specification
This position requires an individual with a People/customer focused approach with strong inter-personal skills. They will be required to form relationships from the first day, working effortlessly across the wholeforce (military, civilian and contractors) and communicating with internal and external customers through various mediums.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team, sound organisational skills, capable of working to deadlines and updating others on progress.
Able to deal with discrete and delicate situations while maintaining confidentiality and data protection along with the ability to deal with challenging situations with professionalism and solution focused approach.
Proficient in office computer skills, including: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, knowledge of social media.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and working from home as part of a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement. All office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to site capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD workplace, will also count towards this level of office attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
