The Job
Children’s Centre Family Engagement Worker (Temporary - 6 months)
You will be joining our Children’s Centre teams, playing a vital role in supporting families with children primarily aged 0-5.
As a Family Engagement Worker, you will assess family need, and develop a family plan to improve outcomes through the delivery of outreach, home visits and delivery of evidence-based programmes, with a particular focus on the home learning environment, parent-infant relationships, perinatal mental health and parenting capacity. You may also be required to support the delivery of universal group sessions depending on capacity within the children’s centre.
As a new and developing role, you will be asked to input into the development of practice guidance and recording.
There are a total of 6 full-time positions across 6 different children’s centres. To start in October or as soon as possible.

We are seeking to appoint a Family Engagement Worker that has a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Childcare, Health & Social Care or related field OR significant relevant experience.
You should have:
• A good understanding of child development and the Early Year’s Foundation Stage.
• You must have worked with 0–5-year-olds before (inclusive of children with emerging or additional
needs) and enjoy supporting families to achieve better outcomes
• A real commitment to work closely with parents and see them as partners
• The motivation to work closely with colleagues to create a positive learning environment
• The ability to be reflective in your practice and interested in your professional development
• An excellent level of written and spoken English and ability to use ICT
• A commitment to safeguarding children and an understanding of why it is important.
