Job Title

CNC Miller (Night Shift) - Contract
Pay Rate: Up to £23.14 per hour

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Miller to join our client's manufacturing team in Tewkesbury on a contract basis. Supporting projects across the aerospace, automotive, and maritime sectors, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment producing high-quality machined components to demanding industry standards.

The successful candidate will be experienced in setting and operating CNC milling machinery, with strong knowledge of FANUC controls and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC milling machines using FANUC OI-MF/FANUC control systems.
  • Manufacture precision components in accordance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Perform tool setting, tool changes, and offset adjustments.
  • Conduct first-off and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with drawing tolerances and SPC requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Inspect your own work to ensure it meets customer and quality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, and safety in line with 5S/5C principles.
  • Identify and report machining, tooling, or quality issues.
  • Contribute to the efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement of the machining department.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Strong working knowledge of FANUC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience carrying out self-inspection using standard measuring equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong engineering and problem-solving skills.
  • Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing.

Desirable

  • Experience within the aerospace manufacturing sector.
  • Experience in CNC turning and mill-turn operations.
  • Knowledge of Nakamura machines with bar feed systems.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Experience working within AS9100 or similar regulated manufacturing environments.

Working Hours

Night Shift

  • Core hours: 8:00 PM - 3:00 AM
  • 39 hours per week
  • Overtime opportunities available at enhanced rates
