Sheet Metal Foreman Location: Sittingbourne Salary: £20 - £23 per hour (DOE) Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm Contract: Permanent The Opportunity Morgan Jones is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Foreman to lead daily factory operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee production activities, support and develop employees, and ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for driving productivity, maintaining exceptional quality standards, achieving customer delivery targets, and fostering a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across the factory floor. Why Join Our Client? • Competitive hourly rate of £20 - £23 per hour DOE • Monday - Friday working pattern, 6:00am - 3:00pm • 23 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays • Additional holiday entitlement with long service • 4% matching pension contribution after 3 months • Private healthcare after 6 months • Bi-annual profit share scheme • Bright Ideas reward scheme • Subsidised gym membership • Two paid physiotherapy sessions annually • Free tea and coffee • Ongoing training and development opportunities • Genuine career progression prospects Key Responsibilities • Manage the day-to-day running of the sheet metal production department • Allocate labour and machine resources to meet production priorities • Monitor workflow, productivity, quality, and delivery performance • Lead, coach, and develop production employees and Team Leaders • Conduct daily production meetings and shift briefings • Ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are met • Investigate production and quality issues and implement corrective actions • Maintain excellent health and safety and housekeeping standards • Liaise with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Stores teams • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives • Monitor KPIs including OTIF, labour productivity, quality, machine utilisation, scrap reduction, and health & safety performance What We're Looking For • Minimum 3-5 years' supervisory experience within a sheet metal manufacturing environment • Strong knowledge of laser cutting, punch press, press brake, MIG/TIG welding, and assembly • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills • Experience using root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys • Organised, hands-on, and confident working under pressure Desirable Lean Manufacturing experience 3S/5S knowledge IOSH Managing Safely First Aid qualification Forklift licence ERP/MRP system experience About Morgan Jones Morgan Jones Limited acts as an employment agency.
