Are you a Qualified SEN Teacher with QTS looking for your next teaching opportunity in Wolverhampton? Do you have experience teaching children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), additional learning needs or complex needs?
Balfor Recruitment is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Wolverhampton from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a QTS SEN Teacher, SEND Teacher, Special Educational Needs Teacher or Primary/Secondary Teacher with SEN experience who is passionate about providing high-quality education and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The school provides a supportive, nurturing and inclusive specialist education environment, where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially, emotionally and personally.
As an SEN Teacher in Wolverhampton, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and accessible lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils. You will use a range of specialist teaching strategies to support children and young people with additional needs, ensuring learning is adapted to individual abilities, EHCP outcomes, learning targets and developmental needs.
You will create a safe, structured, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
This role would suit an experienced SEN Teacher, SEND Teacher, Special Needs Teacher or mainstream teacher with strong SEN experience looking to develop their career within a specialist school setting.

SEN Teacher – Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teacher / SEND Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and differentiated lessons that meet individual pupil needs.
- Teaching pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEND and additional learning needs.
- Adapting teaching methods, classroom activities and learning resources to support different abilities and learning styles.
- Planning lessons and learning programmes in line with individual EHCP outcomes and pupil targets.
- Monitoring, assessing, recording and reviewing pupil progress, attainment and development.
- Identifying individual barriers to learning and implementing appropriate teaching and support strategies.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, structured and stimulating SEN classroom environment.
- Developing positive professional relationships with pupils and supporting their confidence, independence and self-esteem.
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and effective learning behaviours.
- Using effective behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and specialist support staff to provide effective classroom support.
- Collaborating with parents/carers, therapists, external agencies and multidisciplinary teams where appropriate.
- Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews, pupil progress meetings and multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Supporting pupils’ wider development, including social, emotional, communication and independence skills.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, SEND provision and professional practice.
- Following school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, behaviour, health and safety and teaching and learning.
SEN Teacher Requirements
The successful SEN Teacher / SEND Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential.
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teacher, SEND Teacher or within a specialist SEN/SEND school – Essential.
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, SEND or additional learning needs.
- Strong understanding of EHCPs, individual learning plans and personalised learning targets.
- Experience adapting and differentiating lessons to meet individual pupil needs.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach to teaching children and young people.
- The ability to remain calm, consistent and professional when managing challenging behaviour or complex needs.
- Adaptability and resilience when responding to different pupil abilities, needs and learning styles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with pupils, colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary SEN education team.
- A genuine passion for SEN education, SEND teaching and helping pupils achieve their full potential.
