Service Engineer – Automatic & Industrial Doors

Location: West Midlands (South of Birmingham) 
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Salary: Up to £43,000 basic
OTE: £60,000+ including door-to-door travel, overtime, and on-call payments

About the Company

TSM Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing specialist within the automatic entrance systems industry.

Operating across commercial, retail, and industrial environments, the business delivers installation, servicing, and maintenance solutions across a wide range of automatic and industrial door systems.

Due to continued growth across the Midlands region, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Service Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

The Role

This is a field-based position covering the Midlands area, responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automatic and industrial door systems.

You’ll work independently across a varied customer base while receiving full support from an experienced management team and ongoing technical training.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, repair, and install:
  • Automatic sliding, swing, folding, and revolving doors
  • Industrial shutters, roller shutters, sectional, and high-speed doors
• Diagnose faults and provide effective repair solutions
• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency call-outs
• Accurately complete reports and job sheets using a company-issued iPad
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and compliance
• Deliver excellent customer service and represent the business professionally on-site
• Participate in the on-call rota and overtime when required

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with automatic doors
• EN16005 or BS7036 qualification
• Valid CSCS card
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience using tablets/iPads for job management
• Good communication and customer-facing skills
• Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work

Desirable

• Experience working on industrial doors
• IPAF licence
• PASMA or DHF accreditation

Salary & Benefits

• Basic salary up to £43,000
• OTE £60,000+ achievable
• Door-to-door travel pay
• On-Call Pay: £175/week + bonuses for call-outs
• Overtime Rates: 1.5x after 5:00 PM; 2x on Sundays & Bank Holidays
