About the role
Supply Chain Planner
Location: Leeds, UK (Hybrid - Minimum 3 days/week onsite)
Contract Type: Temporary 9 months contract
Working Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate (PAYE): £21.54 - £23.08 per hour
Job Summary
We are looking for an analytical and proactive Supply Chain Planner to join our team in Leeds until March 2027. In this role, you will manage operational planning for a critical segment of our supply chain, oversee global supplier performance, and optimize inventory levels to meet customer service targets.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Performance Management: Actively manage and collaborate with a complex network of global suppliers to maintain high performance standards.
Daily Operational Planning: Oversee daily planning processes to identify and prevent potential supply chain bottlenecks or failures.
Inventory & Service Level Optimization: Balance supply and demand to hit inventory targets and drive continuous service improvements.
Preventive Problem Solving: Champion proactive planning practices to minimize the need for expediting and escalate potential issues early.
Process Improvement: Lead cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement short- and mid-term tactical improvements using Six Sigma tools.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience: Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Supply Chain or relevant discipline, or equivalent work experience in a planning/analytical supply chain role.
Supplier Management: Hands-on experience in supplier performance management and driving continuous improvement work prior to formal escalation.
Supply Chain Concepts: Strong understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), trade-offs, network exception management, and inbound materials tracking/management.
Data & Analytics: Ability to work alongside data teams to identify key planning parameters and optimize for operational outcomes.
Teamwork: Track record of delivering both personal and team results for broader network success.
