Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hybrid – Derby
Duration: 3 months + possible extension
Rate: £450/£515pd – Inside IR35

Are you a Quantity Surveyor based in Derby looking for your next contract opportunity? As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the full commercial function across M&E and electrical projects, covering cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting for major electrical contractors and infrastructure clients. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality M&E solutions to its customers.

Responsibilities:

* Manage cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control across a portfolio of M&E and electrical projects.
* Oversee contract administration, ensuring full compliance with commercial terms and contractual obligations.
* Lead valuations, variations, and applications for payment throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conduct risk assessments and identify cost-saving opportunities to protect project margins.
* Collaborate closely with project managers to maintain cost efficiency and profitability.
* Produce accurate financial reports and forecasts for internal and client-facing purposes.

Experience and Certifications required:

* Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the M&E or electrical sector.
* Proven track record in cost control, contract management, and commercial administration on large-scale electrical projects.
* Experience working with or for major electrical contractors or utilities clients.
* Strong commercial acumen with well-developed negotiation and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline (desirable).
* MRICS or working towards chartered status (desirable).
