Rotherham, South Yorkshire Tradewind Recruitment High Needs Classroom Support - Specialist SEN School Tradewind Recruitment - Rotherham Location: Rotherham Pay: £95-£120 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time | Term Time Only Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a High Needs Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Rotherham, supporting children and young people with complex and high-level additional needs. This is a role for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference, but it is not an easy position. Pupils may have significant communication difficulties, complex learning needs, emotional regulation difficulties and challenging behaviours, which can include aggression and behaviours that can be physically demanding to manage. The successful candidate will need to be resilient, patient and nurturing, while also being confident enough to maintain boundaries and remain calm when situations become difficult. Every day can be different, and you will need to be prepared for the challenges that come with working in a high-needs SEN environment. The Role Supporting pupils with high and complex needs within the classroom Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required Supporting learning, communication and emotional regulation Helping pupils manage challenging situations and behaviours Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils Working closely with teachers and other specialist staff Following individual support plans and behaviour strategies Supporting pupils to develop independence and life skills What We're Looking For Experience working with SEN, complex needs or challenging behaviour A calm, patient and genuinely nurturing approach Strong resilience and the ability to remain composed under pressure Someone who is comfortable working in a demanding and sometimes unpredictable environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Experience in education, care, residential support, healthcare or similar settings would be beneficial Pay The role pays £95-£120 per day. The exact rate offered will depend on experience, availability and the individual school's budget.
