Lead Asset Management Engineer - Contract Role
Summary
Join a leading energy industry consultancy as a Lead Asset Management Engineer. This role is based in the UK and is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about reliability, maintenance, and asset lifecycle management. You’ll have the opportunity to shape strategies and deliver impactful solutions for high-profile projects across multiple sectors.
 
Location and Working Pattern 
UK – location within client offices. 
 
Client Overview
Our client delivers specialist engineering, maintenance, and asset management services to major energy and industrial projects globally. They drive operational excellence by combining technical expertise with innovative solutions. 
Responsibilities

Lead maintenance, reliability, and asset management consultancy projects.
Deliver technical assurance and peer reviews for engineering studies.
Develop risk-based maintenance strategies and reliability improvement programmes.
Oversee operational readiness and assurance plans for projects and modifications.
Support commissioning, start-up readiness reviews, and handover processes.
Lead RAM, RCM, FMECA/FMEA, RCA, and criticality assessments.
Optimise maintenance frameworks, CMMS governance, and asset data quality.
Mentor and provide technical leadership for junior engineers.

 
Must-have Requirements

Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability or related Engineering discipline.
Proven expertise in maintenance engineering, reliability principles, and asset management.
Strong knowledge of HSE compliance and asset lifecycle principles.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client expectations.

 
Nice-to-have Skills

Experience in sectors such as oil and gas, chemicals, power, hydrogen, CCUS, or renewables.
Knowledge of CMMS optimisation and asset performance monitoring systems.
Familiarity with operational readiness and commissioning methodologies.
Chartered Engineer status or progression towards professional registration.
