About the role


Our client, operating in the Transmission & Distribution sector, is currently seeking a Site EHS Advisor for a contract role. This position is critical in leading the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) integration during the Inquiry to Order (ITO) phase for new opportunities, ensuring that risks, customer requirements, and other EHS aspects are properly managed and assessed before a project progresses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the clients EHS governance framework across new opportunities
  • Review and validate customer EHS requirements, contractual obligations, and bid conditions
  • Assess EHS risks using company workflows and risk tools
  • Define required EHS staffing, competence needs, audits, and mitigations
  • Support contractor, partner, and supply chain EHS qualification and readiness reviews
  • Coordinate EHS input from Legal, Medical, Security, Sustainability, and other relevant teams
  • Participate in the ITO-to-OTR handover and transfer EHS requirements into execution planning
  • Maintain traceable records of EHS validations, approvals, and site assessments

Job Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of EHS risk assessment, contractor management, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to assess EHS impacts of commercial, technical, and operational requirements
  • Experience with high-risk activities, environmental liabilities, and hazardous materials
  • Ability to influence commercial teams and challenge unacceptable EHS risks
  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills across EHS, Legal, Medical, Security, Sustainability, and Commercial Operations
  • EHS or technical background, preferably in construction, field services, or energy project environments
  • Familiarity with customer site work controls, contractor oversight, and pre-mobilization planning
  • Experience with EHS management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

Key Performance Indicators:

  • EHS review completed before bid submission or order acceptance
  • EHS risks documented in company tools and workflows
  • EHS cost assumptions incorporated into offers
  • High-risk opportunities escalated for appropriate review and approval
  • Complete and traceable EHS handover information provided to OTR teams
  • Customer and contract EHS requirements addressed before execution
  • Contractor and Partner EHS qualifications completed before issuing purchase orders
