Full Stack Engineer (Contract) – Leeds

6 Month Contract | £400-£500 per day (Outside IR35) | .NET | C# | React | TypeScript | REST APIs

We’re looking for an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join a dedicated Digital team delivering the replatforming of a core banking platform. This is a hands-on contract role where around 90% of your workload will focus on .NET and REST API development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building robust backend services at scale whilst remaining comfortable working across the full stack.

You’ll be joining an established engineering team working on a long-term transformation programme, with the potential for further contract opportunities as the programme evolves.

The Role

Working within a collaborative Digital squad, you’ll help deliver high-quality software across both the frontend and backend using React, TypeScript and .NET/C#.

This role requires an experienced pair of hands who is comfortable systematically creating and maintaining a large number of API endpoints whilst ensuring code quality, automation and operational readiness throughout the development lifecycle.

The engineering team works using Scrum, while the wider programme follows a waterfall approach with approved high-level designs provided ahead of delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver end-to-end features across .NET/C#, React and TypeScript
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services
• Build secure, scalable and maintainable applications
• Create automated unit and integration tests
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery
• Implement logging, monitoring and observability best practices
• Support production issues and continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in peer reviews and Agile ceremonies
• Produce and maintain technical documentation

• Scrum Master
• Business Analyst
• Tester
• Three Full Stack Engineers

Everyone within the team is focused on delivering this strategic banking transformation programme.

Essential Skills

• Commercial experience with .NET / C#
• Strong REST API development experience
• React and TypeScript
• Full Stack development experience
• Git or Bitbucket
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Unit and integration testing
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaborative approach

Nice to Have

• Cloud-native development experience
• Contract testing and UI automation
• Observability (logging, metrics and tracing)
• Financial Services experience
• JIRA or similar Agile tooling
