About the role
Zest education are seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in Handsworth. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, supporting our Early Years Foundation Stage team to provide the very best start for our youngest learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities
- Work with small groups and individual children to support their development
- Help create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for all pupils
- Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines
- Encourage positive behaviour and social skills through play and structured activities
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent)
- Experience working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, supportive, and proactive approach to working with young children
