The RoleAs a General Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the usual classroom teacher. You will create a positive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure pupils remain engaged with their learning. Planning and marking responsibilities may vary depending on the assignment, with many day-to-day roles requiring only the delivery of pre-prepared lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons using work provided by the school.
• Adapt to teaching a variety of subjects and year groups.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and student engagement.
• Assess understanding throughout lessons and provide feedback where required.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.
• Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
• Represent Teachers UK and Provide Education professionally at all times.

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
• Experience teaching within UK secondary schools.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• A flexible, positive and professional approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.
