The RoleAs an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that encourage students to develop their reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills. You will teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and the requirements of the school. Assignments may range from day-to-day cover using pre-planned lessons to longer-term roles involving planning, preparation and assessment.

Key Responsibilities;

• Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons where required.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons for day-to-day supply assignments.
• Inspire students to achieve their full potential in English Language and Literature.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress where appropriate.
• Maintain excellent classroom behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.
• Follow school policies, curriculum requirements and safeguarding procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and school leadership teams.

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you should have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
• Experience teaching English within UK secondary schools.
• Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• The ability to engage and motivate learners of all abilities.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.
