Are you a dedicated social care professional ready to take the next meaningful step in your career? A respected provider of specialist children's residential services is seeking a compassionate, resilient Senior Residential Childcare Worker to help shape a safe, nurturing environment for young people in Dunscore.

In this pivotal leadership role, you will do far more than manage daily operations: you will actively inspire vulnerable young people to overcome past adversity, develop vital life skills, and build a brighter future.

What's in it for you?
  • Attractive Earnings: Earn between £28,645.50 and £29,464.50 basic salary, with additional sleep-in allowances raising overall OTE up to £37,464.

  • Comprehensive Funding: Fully funded PVG registration check and a paid, fully supportive induction programme.

  • Professional Support: Access to 24/7 employee support networks, structured career development pathways, and ongoing accredited training.

  • Stable Employment: Guaranteed full-time contract within a highly supportive, close-knit team setting.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Relational Care: Build authentic, trusting relationships with young individuals, providing compassionate emotional and moral support tailored to individual needs.

  • Routine & Life Skills: Guide young people through structured daily routines, including school preparation, nutritional meal planning, and key independent living skills.

  • Enrichment Activities: Coordinate and lead engaging social outings, sports, outdoor activities, and creative projects to nurture personal interests and confidence.

  • Homely Environment: Assist in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and warmth throughout the residential home to foster a genuine family environment.

  • Digital Documentation: Utilise modern electronic care management software to log accurate shift records, progress notes, and individual care plans (full system orientation provided).

What we need from you
  • Personality & Values: An empathetic, patient, and good-humoured approach, combined with a strong desire to mentor and uplift young lives.

  • Background: Experience in residential care, support work, youth services, education, or community outreach is highly valued.

  • Licence: A full UK manual driving licence is essential due to the requirements of transporting service users.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to participate in a shift pattern that includes evening, weekend, and sleep-in duties.

This position is ideally suited to experienced care practitioners, but applications are also strongly encouraged from individuals possessing transferable skills gained in roles such as:
