Laboratory Support Technician

Macclesfield, Cheshire East Taylorollinson Laboratory Support Technician Location – Cheshire Sector – Drug Discovery Salary - £24,500 - £26,000 per year Contract – Temporary contract (agency) – Likely to be until October 2026 Hours - Full-time, onsite Visa sponsorship not available for this role. Our client is a leading company, offering research services to the Drug Discovery sector. They collaborate with lead researchers and organisations to enhance the understanding of immunological, oncological, neurological and other disease areas. Based in Alderley Park, they are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their Laboratory Support team as a Laboratory Technician on a full-time and temporary basis The Role This is a role for an existing laboratory technician (biology setting), or someone with HND / A-Level (or other Level 3 qualification in Biology / life science). As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for: * General laboratory upkeep of the various fridges and freezers, cleaning glassware and operating the autoclave to enable researchers. * Creation of stock solutions and biological reagents. * Creation of growth media and cell culture plates. * Disposal of waste from the laboratory. * Ordering of new consumables / stock / laboratory supplies. * Handling of deliveries of laboratory supplies from external suppliers. Skills and Experience Needed: Suitable applicants will have: * A level 3 qualification in a biological or scientific setting e.g. Biology A-Level, Applied Sciences BTEC etc (essential). * Prior laboratory technician experience (desired, not essential) * A clear interest in working in a biological laboratory setting (essential) * Demonstratable skills in numeracy and following set processes (essential) * A can do attitude, with the willingness to ask for support if needed (essential) * Good communication and problem-solving skills.
