Fortus Recruitment Group Limited are a recruitment company that specialise in placing people within the repairs and maintenance industry.

An established housing association is looking for a Void Labourer / Driver to join their in-house repairs and maintenance team. This is a permanent opportunity supporting the delivery of void property works, helping to prepare homes for new tenants by carrying out property clearances, material deliveries and general labouring duties.

The Role:

• Carry out general labouring duties across void properties
• Clear properties, gardens, lofts, sheds and external areas ready for refurbishment
• Load, unload and safely dispose of waste, materials and unwanted items
• Collect and deliver tools, materials and equipment using a company vehicle
• Support trades operatives with strip out works and property preparation
• Remove fixtures, fittings, floor coverings and redundant materials
• Complete basic making good, cleaning and tidying tasks
• Assist with stock control and ensure operatives have the materials they need
• Keep properties, vehicles and work areas clean, safe and organised
• Report any health and safety concerns, property defects or additional works required
• Update job information accurately using mobile devices or paperwork
• Provide a professional and courteous service when dealing with customers and colleagues
• Work flexibly across voids and responsive repairs as required

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working in a labouring, construction or property maintenance role
• Confident using basic hand tools
• Good understanding of manual handling and site safety
• Able to work well as part of a team and follow instructions
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to changing workloads
• Basic IT skills for updating job information
• Respectful and professional attitude when working within customers’ homes

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Willingness to undertake a Basic DBS check
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
