About the role
Pay: £200.00 – £300.00 per day
Do you want the opportunity to step away from the pressures of a traditional classroom and instead focus on delivering truly personalised education that changes lives?
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about creating meaningful educational pathways for young people with SEND, SEMH, medical needs and those who are unable to access mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out baseline assessments across core curriculum areas to identify learners’ strengths, attainment levels and gaps in learning.
- Develop personalised KS4 curriculum pathways aligned with EHCP outcomes, learner aspirations and appropriate qualifications such as GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN.
- Coordinate the creation and regular review of comprehensive Pupil Passports, ensuring they reflect each learner’s strengths, needs, interests, barriers to learning and successful teaching strategies.
- Lead curriculum planning in collaboration with learners, parents, carers and Local Authorities.
- Monitor learner attendance, engagement, wellbeing, academic progress and progress towards EHCP outcomes.
- Ensure reasonable adjustments, scaffolding, communication strategies and personalised support are consistently embedded throughout teaching.
- Prepare progress reports and contribute to statutory EHCP documentation and Annual Reviews.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance and educational quality across all EOTAS packages.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Extensive experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH and complex additional needs.
- A thorough understanding of the KS4 curriculum and alternative education provision.
- Excellent knowledge of EHCPs, Annual Review processes and person-centred planning.
- Experience designing personalised curriculum pathways and differentiated learning programmes.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build positive relationships with families, Local Authorities and professionals.
- The ability to analyse learner progress and use assessment information to inform educational planning.
- A compassionate, flexible and solution-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent SEND leadership experience.
- Experience delivering or coordinating EOTAS or Section 19 provision.
- Knowledge of GCSE, Functional Skills, ASDAN and alternative accreditation pathways.
- Experience supporting learners transitioning into Further Education, employment or apprenticeships.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and relational approaches.
