About the role
Walk and Talk Project Officer (fixed term until 30th June 2027)
Hours – 30 hours per week
Salary – £26,249 per annum FTE (£20,999 actual based on hours stated above)
Are you self-motivated, organised, empathetic, able to work independently and think on your feet, then you might want to consider joining a small team of like-minded people.
Our charity, Carers Support, works across Bristol and S. Glos to support unpaid family carers who are supporting their loved ones at home.
We currently have a vacancy in our Walk & Talk Team to support us with the development of weekly walking groups and taster sessions for adult carers and the people they care for across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Project Officer to help carers connect with others, access support, improve their health and wellbeing and reduce loneliness and isolation. The role will also focus on reaching carers from under-represented communities, helping more people feel seen, supported and included.
Join us and help make every walk a step towards better wellbeing.
Main duties would include:
To:
· Deliver safe, accessible and inclusive walk & talk sessions for carers and, where appropriate, the people they care for.
· Support carers to build confidence and connections, including helping groups to continue as peer-led walking groups.
· Be the initial point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, managing expressions of interest, waiting lists and bookings, while ensuring carers receive a welcoming introduction, regular updates and all information is accurately recorded so they can attend safely and appropriately.
· Work with the Project Manager to increase engagement from under-represented communities and ensure the service is inclusive and accessible.
There’s lots more we could tell you, but why not apply and come and see for yourself. If you’d like any further information, please email [email removed]
Please visit our website at https://www.carersbsg.org.uk/join-our-team (direct link to our vacancies page) for all the information you need and details of how to apply. All completed applications should be returned to [email removed].
Closing date for applications is Thursday 3 September 2026 at 9am with interviews at our offices in Fishponds on Wednesday 16th September 2026.
We are an Equal Opportunities Employer, and our workplace is free of barriers and fully accessible for people with disabilities. We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults; from recruitment of staff through to supporting our team working with families and carers in crisis.
