We’re currently recruiting for a Pupil Empowerment Mentor to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for graduates and experienced support staff who are passionate about helping children unlock their potential, build confidence and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

As a Pupil Empowerment Mentor, you’ll work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop resilience and become confident, independent learners.

This role is particularly suited to individuals considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, SEND, speech and language therapy, youth work, social work or pastoral support.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 on a one-to-one and small group basis.

  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, self-belief and engagement.

  • Help pupils overcome academic, social and emotional barriers to learning.

  • Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.

  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve attainment and personal development.

  • Promote resilience, independence and positive learning behaviours.

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social skills development.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams.

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Requirements

  • Degree obtained within the last five years or relevant experience supporting children and young people.

  • Professional employment references covering the last two years.

  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A positive, resilient and nurturing approach.

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.

  • Understanding of SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH or Speech and Language needs is advantageous.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
