Milk Education is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work within a specialist SEN provision school in Ossett. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring psychologists who want to gain meaningful experience supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs in a nurturing and specialist educational setting.

The school supports pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated learning difficulties.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored support that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, improve communication skills, and reach their full potential.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Delivering targeted interventions to support learning and communication
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
• Encouraging participation and engagement during lessons
• Acting as a positive and consistent role model
• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN team
• Celebrating pupils’ progress and achievements

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:

• A degree in Psychology or a related subject
• Experience working with children or young people through schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, or support work
• A genuine interest in child development, SEN, and mental health
• Patience, resilience, and emotional maturity
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potential
