Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant Location - Central London | Hybrid Working (3 Days Office / 2 Days Home)
Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE
Permanent, Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing organisation based in Central London. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll support month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while working closely with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Produce Opex and Capex reporting, variance analysis, and management commentary.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and management accounts preparation.
• Partner with budget holders to review costs and improve financial performance.
• Monitor purchase orders, GR/IR balances, and expense coding.
• Produce financial reports and business analysis.
• Support audits and finance system improvements.
• Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.

About You

• Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Experience in an infrastructure environment preferable.
• Strong understanding of month-end processes, accruals, and prepayments.
• Experience with reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or qualified by experience.
