About the role
Job summary
Working in the North West regional team, our Partnerships and Business Development Managers will be joining a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team who are focussed on unlocking tens of thousands of homes in sustainable, well-designed communities and in support of local housing and regeneration ambitions.
We do this by enabling and supporting the coordination and delivery of complex, large-scale regeneration projects. We work collaboratively with local authorities, combined authorities, central Government and leading private sector partners. This is an exciting role providing the opportunity to participate in the North West’s most transformational regeneration projects and work in partnership to meet housing need.
Job description
The Regional Team work on strategic projects requiring complex or multiple interventions to unlock delivery and drive projects forward. We also coordinate a range of interventions offered by Homes England meaning you will be at the heart of the Agency’s capacity to support housing and regeneration.
Our role is to coordinate partnerships between the public and private sector identifying the required mix of capital, land, and delivery expertise required to drive each project. We do this through our existing SPPs with Greater Manchester and Liverpool City Region Combined Authorities and emerging partnerships with Cheshire and Warrington and Lancashire and Cumbria. Our mission is to accelerate the delivery of high-quality homes in these locations, whilst also supporting economic growth through regeneration and placemaking.
Recent project examples include:
•Joint working with GMCA, Manchester City Council, TfGM and private sector partners to deliver Victoria North (Manchester), the largest residential opportunity in Greater Manchester.
•Providing £56m infrastructure investment to unlock 2,350 new homes at Central Docks in collaboration with Liverpool City Council and Peel Waters.
•Successfully completing a number of strategic acquisitions and disposals across the region.
This is a rare chance to work for an organisation with real social purpose, one which is uniquely positioned to shape the future of place-based housing delivery and regeneration. Working with influential stakeholders, you will support our experienced team in driving delivery of a range of complex workstreams.
Person specification
We are looking for someone to join our team who wants to work on the delivery of complex regeneration projects, can understand the barriers faced in delivering them, and is used to working in a fast-paced environment.
You'll be comfortable supporting the Senior Manager and Senior Leadership Team on housing and regeneration projects. You’ll have the ability to review and absorb information on complex projects, undertake diagnostics identifying barriers to delivery and produce briefings and reports for internal and external stakeholders. You will have a collaborative approach to team work and in turn will be supported by a Senior Manager and a wider team of highly skilled colleagues.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
