About the role
Job summary
The Cyber and Specialist Operations Command (CSOC) Legacy Operations Processing Team (LOPT) is responsible for absorbing and addressing any residual commercial activity and any administrative work that arises subsequently, on behalf of its component sub-organisations, from their military activity in operational theatres or in training, where there is no longer operational currency.
LOPT Team will provide accurate, complete and timely information disclosures to relevant MOD counterparts, including the Directorate of Judicial Policy (DJEP) on behalf of component sub-organisations, including Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) and Ministry of Defence A-Block (MAB).
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Due to the nature of the role, part time and job share arrangements may be considered, subject to the requirement that business needs are met.Job description
The Processing and Sourcing Officer will be engaged in both (information) Sourcing or (disclosure) Processing activity.
The sourcing workstream makes requests for information from relevant counterparts to source appropriate information records from the various MOD data stores. These MOD data stores are both physical and digital and exist centrally and under sub-organisation control. The job holder will carry out sourcing activities to ensure that the full range of records are collated, and the full record set is held in appropriate LOPT data stores to permit processing.
The Processing workstream will apply existing policy and legal advice within a controlled, automated environment to fulfil disclosure requests within agreed quality, time and volume targets. Where information requests are novel or outside of agreed parameters, or where the context is not clear, EOs will engage with the processing manager to resolve. Processing will also involve the appropriate transmission of redacted record sets for release. This role will enable the colleagues to develop skills in data processing.
There is the opportnity to specilise in either processing or sourcing, with expectation that job holders will be able to flex across both workstreams to best support the timely completion of disclosure activities when required. This will ensure a full range of experiences and working knowledge will be available to the post holder.
This role will enable the colleagues to develop skills in data management and data processing.
