We are looking for a self-motivated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic expert by experience. This person will help drive future improvements in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services. We recognise the value that lived experience brings. We are especially keen to hear from someone who can draw on their experience as a parent carer, or as a young person with SEND. This insight will help us improve the quality, responsiveness and impact of our work. A strong and responsive Quality Assurance Framework is essential. It helps ensure that children, young people and families receive consistent, first-class support. We are looking for someone who can help us build on the significant improvements already made.

As a SEND Quality Assurance Officer, you will support the development and implementation of our SEND Quality Assurance Framework. You will use your insight as an expert by experience to help shape how we listen, learn and improve. Your understanding of the experiences of children, young people and families will be highly valued. It will help keep our quality assurance work focused on what matters most to families. You will also help connect parent carers to quality assurance activity. This will create meaningful opportunities for their views and experiences to inform how we evaluate services and identify improvements. You will work directly with staff in SEND services and with colleagues across the wider partnership. The role will be varied. It will include some direct contact with parents and carers. It will also include managing and administering internal quality assurance processes, undertaking audits and contributing to future quality assurance work.

You will be able to produce high-quality reports on what our quality assurance work is telling us. You will also be skilled at turning that learning into improvements in practice. This will involve working with managers and EHCP Coordinators. Together, you will identify the most effective ways to make changes and ‘complete the loop’ in our quality assurance work.
