Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker

Location: Barking
Salary: Up to £30.160 per annum + circa £5500 per annum for sleep-in bonus payments
Hours: Full-Time
Service: 2-Bed EBD Children’s Home

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead shifts, support vulnerable young people, and play a key role in delivering high-quality care within a small, supportive 2-bed EBD home.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage shifts, ensuring the home runs safely and effectively.
• Support children and young people with their daily routines, education and emotional wellbeing.
• Act as a positive role model and build trusting relationships.
• Complete care records, incident reports and risk assessments.
• Support and mentor Residential Support Workers.
• Promote safeguarding and maintain high standards of care.
• Accompany young people to school, appointments and activities.
• Complete sleep-in duties as part of the rota.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children is essential.
• Experience within a Children’s Residential or EBD setting is desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• We also welcome applications from Teaching Assistants and Psychology Graduates with relevant experience supporting children.
