Job Title: Gates & Barriers Engineer
Location: Nottingham
Rate: Competitive rate + package
Are you a Gates & Barriers Engineer based in Nottingham looking for your next contract opportunity? As a Gates & Barriers Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of automated gates, barriers, and access control systems across a range of commercial, industrial, and residential sites throughout Nottingham and the surrounding areas. You will be joining an established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality security and access solutions to its customers.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on automated gates, barriers, and associated access control equipment to manufacturer and contractual standards.
* Diagnose and repair faults on a range of gate and barrier systems, including sliding, swing, and rising arm barriers.
* Complete accurate service reports and job records using company systems or paperwork in a timely manner.
* Liaise professionally with site contacts and customers, providing clear updates on work carried out and any remedial requirements.
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and relevant industry standards.
* Manage van stock and order parts as required to minimise site downtime.
Experience and Certifications required:
* Proven experience servicing and maintaining automated gates, barrier systems, and access control equipment in a field-based role.
* Hands-on knowledge of a range of manufacturers and systems, such as FAAC, BFT, Came, or Magnetic Autocontrol.
* Experience reading wiring diagrams and carrying out basic electrical fault-finding on 24V and 240V systems.
* Full UK driving licence, as this is a mobile field-based role covering Nottingham and surrounding areas.
* DHF TS 011 Gates & Barriers training or equivalent industry qualification (desirable).
* CSCS Card (desirable).
