Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Knowsley
Balfor Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a welcoming and inclusive school in Knowsley.
This exciting opportunity would suit candidates who have experience working with children with autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, and complex needs. You will play an essential role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while providing the support they need to thrive in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties.
- Promoting positive behaviour management strategies.
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Supporting the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Monitoring and recording pupils’ progress.
- Assisting with personal care where required.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- At least six months of experience working within a UK school or SEN environment.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and resilient attitude.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or a willingness to apply for one.
