RQ1760733 – Multi Skilled Trades Operative

Main Purpose of the Role

To carry out repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment work on Council housing and corporate buildings. The role involves completing repair jobs safely, to a good standard, and providing a reliable service to customers.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair works according to work orders.
• Complete jobs within agreed timescales and follow schedules of work.
• Work safely and follow all Health & Safety rules and procedures.
• Carry out multi-skilled repair tasks across housing properties.
• Follow asbestos safety procedures and attend required training.
• Maintain the work vehicle, including cleanliness and checking fluid levels.
• Complete required paperwork and use a PDA system to update work information.
• Provide good customer service and work well with others.
• Understand and support equal opportunities and treat people fairly.
• Be willing to take part in emergency out-of-hours call-out duties.
• Travel to different locations as required.

Qualifications

• Recognized trade qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Time served apprenticeship (desirable).
• NVQ Level 3 (desirable).
• Valid driving license.
• Carpentry experience as  main trade required
• Ideally hold Asbestos Awareness Certificate or be willing to undertake training

Overview

Client – North Northamptonshire Council

Location – Municipal Offices

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5PM

Contract: Initially 3-month with potential to extend as the work is ongoing

PAYE Pay Rate : £17.90
