You will join a collaborative scientific team, working alongside experienced researchers and technical specialists to support the development and optimisation of new products. The Role

As a Formulation Chemist, you will gain broad exposure across product development, laboratory research and analytical testing within an innovative life sciences environment. You will support the development and optimisation of new formulations, contribute to experimental studies and use scientific data to help improve product performance.

The role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced scientists, developing your technical knowledge across formulation, assay development and research processes. Over time, you will have the opportunity to take greater ownership of projects, experiments and technical investigations.

  • Develop and optimise formulations using a range of materials and scientific approaches.
  • Plan and conduct laboratory experiments and formulation studies.
  • Support the development and performance of analytical assays to assess product characteristics.
  • Analyse experimental data and use findings to guide further product improvements.
  • Investigate formulation stability, performance and effectiveness under different conditions.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintain accurate laboratory records and document findings.
  • Collaborate with scientists and technical teams across research, development and manufacturing activities.
  • Support the progression of new products from early-stage research through to development.

Requirements

Must-Have

  • An MSc degree
  • A 2:1 in a life science related degree 
  • Knowledge of the drug development lifecycle

  • A placement year or internship at a pharma or biotech company
