Senior E&I Designer

Job Title Senior E&I Designer Summary We’re seeking an experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer for a 12-month contract based in Fawley. This role is ideal for professionals with strong brownfield oil and gas experience who can work confidently on-site within a large-scale industrial environment. You’ll play a key role in developing and checking detailed design drawings using industry-standard tools. Location and Working Pattern Fawley – site-based position. ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate project files and documentationCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutionsProduce conceptual layouts, surveys, and detailed design drawingsPrepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and conduct self-checking of all outputsEnsure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and company standardsComply with all health, safety, and quality assurance requirementsFollow internal management systems and project proceduresSupport compliance with applicable standards and regulationsMust-have RequirementsStrong 2D design skills using AutoCAD and/or MicroStationProficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access)Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce accurate outputsKnowledge of electrical and control/instrumentation installations in hazardous areasExcellent communication and teamworking skillsStrong ability to convert base design data into detailed drawingsCertificate or Diploma in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Design/DraftingMinimum of 10 years’ relevant drafting experienceNice-to-have SkillsExperience with 3D modelling systems (such as PDS, PDMS, AutoPlant)Knowledge of SmartPlant InstrumentationExposure to site surveys, construction support, or commissioningTrade experience advantageousAbility to perform instrument hook-ups Apply Now If you have the skills and experience outlined above, we’d love to hear from you.
