Mechanical Fitter

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Bournemouth, who are looking to appoint a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Fitter to join their growing team.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery. This position requires a high level of accuracy, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a proactive approach to problem-solving to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.

In this Mechanical Fitter role, your responsibilities will include:

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to assemble mechanical equipment and machinery
• Measuring and assembling components with a high level of accuracy and precision
• Installing and aligning mechanical components in line with specifications
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical faults and malfunctions
• Collaborating with engineers and production teams to ensure smooth workflow
• Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the assembly process
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations at all times
• Keeping work areas clean, organised, and efficient

 To be successful in this Mechanical Fitter position, you will need:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Solid understanding of mechanical assembly techniques and high-tolerance measurements
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Relevant mechanical fitting qualification or training (desirable)
