6 Month Contract | Hybrid 1-2 days in Chesterfield initally, then fully remote| Inside IR35 £750-£800 Morson Edge have partnered with a leading retail organisation to recruit for an experienced Platform Solution Architect to join the Solution Architecture team on a contract basis.This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of enterprise technology, leading the architecture of business-critical platforms that support operational, commercial and corporate services. Working across a complex technology landscape, you'll partner with business leaders, product teams and delivery partners to design scalable, secure and innovative solutions that enable major transformation programmes.The Role
As the Business Platforms Solution Architect, you'll provide architectural leadership across a broad portfolio of enterprise applications, ensuring solutions are aligned with business strategy, enterprise architecture standards and long-term technology roadmaps.You'll be responsible for designing end-to-end solutions across applications, integrations, data, security and cloud technologies, while providing governance and technical assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle.This is a highly collaborative role, requiring someone who can translate complex business requirements into practical technology solutions while influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Key Responsibilities

Design end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise business platforms.Produce high-quality architecture artefacts including Solution Design Documents, integration models, application landscape diagrams and technology roadmaps.Lead architectural governance, design reviews and technical assurance activities.Define scalable integration strategies, API standards and enterprise data flows.Support cloud adoption, SaaS implementations and legacy platform modernisation.Work closely with business stakeholders to support digital transformation, process improvement and automation initiatives.Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, governance and regulatory requirements.Drive platform simplification, standardisation and technical debt reduction across the enterprise.

You'll also have exposure to modern integration and cloud technologies including Azure, AWS or GCP, API Management, event-driven architecture and microservices.About You
We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect who has successfully delivered enterprise-scale business platform solutions within large and complex organisations.You'll bring:
Significant experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Applications Architect or Business Architect.Strong experience designing enterprise application and integration architectures.Knowledge of business platforms such as Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, Workday, Salesforce or ServiceNow.Experience designing cloud-based and SaaS solutions.Strong understanding of enterprise integration, APIs and data architecture.Experience supporting large transformation programmes.The ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.Experience working across Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery environments.
Experience within highly regulated sectors such as retail, financial services, government, utilities or logistics would be advantageous.Desirable Certifications
