We are recruiting for a well-established precision engineering business supplying high-quality components to the medical device sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and motivated Production Engineer who enjoys CNC machining, process improvement and solving technical manufacturing challenges.
The role
You will support engineering projects from initial programming through to production, including CNC programming, machine setting, prove-outs, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
You will also help introduce better process controls, improve machine reliability and support longer periods of unmanned production.
Key responsibilities:
• Programme, set and operate CNC machines.
• Use CAM software such as SolidCAM, hyperMILL or Fusion 360.
• Support machine prove-outs and new product introduction.
• Programme and operate automated metrology equipment.
• Improve manufacturing processes, cycle times and machine efficiency.
• Introduce process controls to support reliable unmanned production.
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues.
• Work closely with engineering, production and quality teams.
• Ensure all work complies with the company’s Quality Management System.
• Maintain accurate engineering, production and training records.
What we are looking for:
• A degree, HNC, HND, apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience within manufacturing, production or mechanical engineering.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Practical knowledge of CNC machining and metal-cutting processes.
• Experience setting, operating or programming CNC machines.
• Experience with SolidCAM, hyperMILL, Fusion 360 or similar software would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks, metrology or inspection equipment would be beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving, mathematical and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with operators, engineers and quality teams.
• A practical, hands-on and continuous improvement mindset.
Additional requirements:
• Must be able to commute reliably to the Salfords or Redhill area.
• Full UK right to work is required.
• A driving licence and access to transport would be advantageous due to the site location.
