About the role

An exciting opportunity for an analytically minded graduate to join a highly commercial business function, contributing to the development of analytical strategy, decision-support modelling, and data-driven insight.

We’re looking for exceptional graduates with strong academic backgrounds in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, or Economics. Any prior commercial experience — such as a placement year or post-university analytical role — will be highly valued.

What you’ll be doing

  • Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to support business decision-making, forecast performance, and quantify uncertainty.
  • Use data analysis and data mining to understand customer behaviour, revenue performance, and identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Specify, implement, and maintain datasets to support statistical and probability-based model development.
  • Carry out detailed, well-documented analysis to support model development and generate actionable insights.
  • Contribute to scenario and probability modelling to assess risk, opportunity, and gross margin outcomes.
  • Support monthly performance reporting and analytical reviews across the business.
  • Present findings and insights clearly to non-technical audiences, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.

Skills

  • Degree (2:1 or above) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Further MSc in a quantitative discipline advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modelling, probability, and data-driven decision analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a logical and curious mindset.
  • Proficient in Excel, with the ability to manipulate and interrogate large datasets.
  • Exposure to tools such as VBA, SPSS, SAS, R, or Python is beneficial.
  • Confident communicator and team player who enjoys solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

Working arrangements

  • Based in Central Birmingham.
  • 4 days per week on-site during the first 3 months (training and onboarding).
  • 2 days per week on-site thereafter, with reasonable flexibility depending on business needs and project requirements.
  • Competitive starting salary and structured progression.
  • Hands-on experience with leading mathematical and analytical methodologies.
  • Exposure to advanced analytical tools and commercial decision modelling.
  • A collaborative environment designed to support your growth and professional development.
