1:1 Teaching Assistant

A supportive SEND‑focused school near Coventry and Arley seeks a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a full‑time September start. You work closely with one pupil who needs consistent, structured support throughout the school day. Moreover, you help the child feel safe, calm and ready to learn. In addition, you follow clear guidance from the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support. Throughout the day, you encourage engagement, model positive behaviour and promote steady progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 SEND support for a pupil with complex needs
• Deliver adapted learning tasks that match the child’s academic level
• Use clear routines to support regulation and reduce anxiety
• Encourage positive behaviour approaches through calm communication
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to maintain consistent provision
• Support early literacy and numeracy through guided practice
• Build a trusting relationship that helps the pupil feel secure and understood

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified or experienced Teaching Assistant with strong SEND knowledge
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional and complex needs
• Clear communication and a patient, nurturing approach
• Ability to follow structured routines and support emotional regulation
• Full‑time Monday–Friday availability from September
• Interest in Coventry or Arley‑based SEND roles
