Desktop Engineer

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a company based in Ipswich who are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for applying technical expertise, industry knowledge and commercial opinion to assess vehicle damage.

Key Duties:

• Assess vehicle damage via images, estimates and reports.
• Ensure accurate repair outcomes in line with manufacture guidelines.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with stakeholders.
• Assess vehicle damage using images, engineer reports, and repair estimates
• Resolve repair viability or total loss outcomes using technical and engineering judgement
• Recognise appropriate repair methods in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards
• Review repair estimates and challenged excessive or unnecessary costs.
• Negotiate repair costs and claim settlements with repairers, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Previous Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of vehicle repair methods and damage assessment procedures.

• Experienced in using industry estimating systems.
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on cost control.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong numeracy, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
