Contract Golang Engineer opportunity - Up to £425 p/d - Outside IR35 - Fully RemoteMorson Edge are seeking a skilled Golang Engineer to join a major replatforming and migration project focused on modernising existing software platforms and infrastructure. The role involves transforming legacy systems to be cloud-ready, enabling on-demand deployment and delivery through a Docker and Kubernetes-based stack. You will work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams, combining software engineering expertise with a strong operational mindset.This is a high-impact role with an initial 6 month duration (likely to extend to 12), after which you will support the handover and training of permanent engineers to ensure smooth knowledge transfer. Experience with C#/.Net is a plus but not essential. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a large-scale migration and replatforming effort with a strong DevOps feel.Key ResponsibilitiesReplatform existing software and infrastructure to be cloud-ready and support on-demand deploymentDevelop and maintain Golang applications with a focus on infrastructure and deployment automationCollaborate with DevOps teams to build and optimise Docker and Kubernetes-based delivery pipelinesSupport migration activities and ensure alignment with cloud-native best practicesProvide training and handover to permanent engineering teams at project completionContribute to infrastructure as code and CI/CD workflows to improve deployment efficiencySkillsStrong experience in Golang developmentSolid understanding of DevOps principles and infrastructure automationHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes container orchestrationExperience with cloud platforms and making infrastructure cloud-readyFamiliarity with software replatforming and migration projectsKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automationAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams including permanent engineersExperience with scripting and automation toolsNice to have: experience with C#/.Net developmentStrong communication skills for training and knowledge transfer
