MK Personnel Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Lead Operative to join their growing food manufacturing team based on the outskirts of Buckingham.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and expanding manufacturer offering a long-term, temp-to-perm position. We’re looking for an experienced individual with a background in food manufacturing or pharmaceutical production who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role.

The Role

As a Lead Operative, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the production line, ensuring production targets, quality standards and food safety requirements are achieved. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead by example, support your team and help keep production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Production Operatives throughout the shift.
• Ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
• Monitor production machinery and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Escalate equipment or production concerns when required.
• Complete production paperwork accurately and on time.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene and quality standards are maintained.
• Train, support and develop new and existing team members.
• Assist across different production areas when required.
• Help maintain a clean, safe and organised production environment.
• Work closely with management and colleagues to ensure smooth production.
• Promote high standards of attendance, teamwork and performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or pharmaceutical production is essential.
• Previous experience as a Lead Operative, Team Leader or Supervisor is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of production machinery and manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident completing production paperwork and documentation.
• A proactive, flexible approach with a positive attitude.
• Own transport is essential due to the location.

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday
• 5:00pm – 2:00am
• Flexibility is required to occasionally work:
  • 3:00pm – 12:00am
  • 4:00pm – 1:00am
• £14.50 per hour
• Temporary to Permanent opportunity
