About the role

I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a leading engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture and support of high-quality electronic systems and hardware for the global defence and naval sectors.

My client has built an excellent reputation for delivering precision-engineered products that operate in demanding maritime environments, supplying customers in over 50 countries where reliability and quality are essential.
Due to continued growth, I am looking to speak with experienced Electrical Quality Control Inspector professionals who are passionate about quality and have a keen eye for detail.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing environment where your work as an Electrical Quality Control Inspector will directly contribute to the delivery of critical defence products.

As an Electrical Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet all technical, dimensional and workmanship standards before progressing through production. Working closely with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance teams, you will help drive Right First Time manufacturing whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Inspecting electrical assemblies, cable assemblies, piece parts and completed products.
  • Carrying out line and roving inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and workmanship standards.
  • Recording and reporting product non-conformances using company quality systems.
  • Updating inspection records and MRP systems accurately.
  • Supporting manufacturing teams to maintain high-quality output.
  • Participating in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities.
  • Working closely with the Quality Assurance team to meet customer requirements.
  • Attending production meetings and providing quality feedback where required.
  • Ensuring products are manufactured efficiently and in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Undertaking additional duties that support the ongoing success of the business.
To be successful as an Electrical Quality Control Inspector, you should have:
  • At least two years’ experience within a similar Quality Control or Inspection role in the Aerospace or Defence industry.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring schedules, schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • IPC 610 and IPC 620 experience, ideally including Train the Trainer certification, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • A professional, proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively within a team environment.
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to support wider business requirements.
In return, my client offers the opportunity to join an innovative and growing engineering organisation where quality is at the heart of everything they do. You’ll become part of a collaborative team working on technically challenging products within the defence sector, with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement and long-term career development as an Electrical Quality Control Inspector.

If you are an experienced Electrical Quality Control Inspector looking for your next opportunity, I would be pleased to discuss the role with you in confidence.
