Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Services Operative (Driver) to support seasonal weed removal, leaf clearance, and street cleansing operations. This role will involve a combination of outdoor environmental maintenance duties, driving responsibilities, and supporting the wider cleaning team when required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining clean and safe public areas, using a range of manual and mechanical tools, and driving a 3.5 tonne caged tipper vehicle to support daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out weed removal duties throughout the weed removal season.
• Support the leafing team during the seasonal leaf clearance period.
• Use manual and mechanical tools safely to complete environmental maintenance tasks.
• Drive and operate a 3.5 tonne caged tipper vehicle to transport equipment, materials, and collected waste.
• Provide support and cover for street cleansing teams when required.
• Sweep streets, pathways, and public areas to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Empty litter bins and assist with general cleansing duties.
• Work safely outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures and complete any required training provided.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience driving a van, tipper vehicle, or similar 3.5 tonne vehicle is desirable.
• Previous experience within environmental services, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, highways, waste, or similar outdoor operational roles is preferred.
• Ability to use manual and mechanical tools safely.
• Comfortable carrying out physically demanding outdoor work.
• Reliable, flexible, and able to support different teams as required.
