We are currently recruiting for an experienced Saw Operative to join a busy and growing metal fabrication workshop based in Redditch.

The successful candidate will have previous experience operating Band Saws or Industrial Plate Saws within a manufacturing, engineering, or metal fabrication environment. This is a full-time, day-shift position offering a competitive hourly rate and a stable Monday to Friday working schedule, with an early finish every Friday!


Saw Operator - Key Responsibilities:

• Operating band saws and industrial plate saws to cut metal materials accurately to specification.
• Reading and interpreting job sheets, drawings, and cutting lists.
• Measuring and checking materials to ensure quality standards are met.
• Handling and moving metal stock safely within the workshop.
• Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Working closely with fabrication and production teams to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Saw Operative or similar role within a metal fabrication or engineering environment.
• Proven experience operating Band Saws and Industrial Plate Saws.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
