SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) – Primary

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced SENCO to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.
You’ll be joining a caring and inclusive school that is committed to ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed. Working closely with senior leaders, staff and external agencies, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the school’s SEND provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SENCO or an aspiring SEND leader looking to take the next step in their career.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing SEND provision across the school
Coordinating and reviewing EHCPs and individual support plans
Supporting teachers to deliver high-quality inclusive practice
Working closely with parents, carers and external professionals
Monitoring pupil progress and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions
Providing guidance and training to support staff
Ensuring statutory SEND responsibilities are met
Requirements or Skills:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it) is desirable
Experience supporting pupils with SEND within a primary setting
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
