Position : Teaching Assistant (Level 2)
Hours: 31 hours per week, Term time + 5 INSET Days.
Salary: Grade 4, SCP 4-9 £25,583 - £27,254 (FTE), £18,355,50 actual.

PURPOSE OF THE POST
Working under the guidance of senior staff, Teaching Assistants play an important role in supporting and leading the academic and personal development of students both in and out of the classroom. This role can involve supervising the whole class, groups or individuals, maintaining good order and implementing agreed programmes of work. Teaching Assistants at this level will use their detailed and specialist knowledge to assist the teacher and support other members of staff.
SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS
Establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
Attend to students’ personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
Supervise and support students ensuring their safety and access to learning
Use specialist knowledge and experience to support students to learn in line with their individual learning plans or targets
Provide feedback to students in relation to progress, achievement, behaviour and attendance
Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self reliance
- Develop 1:1 mentoring relationships with students and provide appropriate support at times of crisis
THE CANDIDATE
Experience in a school or similar setting
Ideally experience working with children/young people with SEN / SEMH Needs
Be educated with grades A to C or equivalent in English and Maths.
Ideally a car driver
SALARY / HOURS
Starting salary for a Grade 4 , SCP 5 - 9 Teaching Assistant (Level 2) is £18,355.50 actual annual salary working 31 hours per week Mon-Fri (08:45am - 3:15pm Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri and 08:45am - 4:15pm Thursday) term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust https://wellspringacademytrust.co.uk/careers/why-join-us/
