Estate Caretaker

We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hands-on individual or couple to support the smooth running and maintenance of a private rural estate. This is a varied, long-term role with the flexibility for one person to undertake the full scope of duties, or for a couple to divide responsibilities according to experience and preference.

The Caretaking element will oversee property and grounds maintenance, including general handyman tasks, repairs, lawn mowing, strimming, seasonal upkeep, security and coordinating external contractors. The role will also include driving family members, maintaining vehicles, running errands, house sitting and caring for family dogs by prior arrangement.

There is also an opportunity to provide personal, administrative and practical support to the household, as well as potentially taking on additional responsibilities within the principals’ business.

For a couple, the second role could include housekeeping duties such as detailed cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, guest room preparation and maintaining the home to an excellent standard.

This is a live-out position offering long-term stability within a supportive private household.

Minimum experience Level for this job: Experience working in a similar capacity in a private household, estate or property environment
Hours of work: 40 hours a week
Days required: Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend/evening driving
Driving required: Yes, essential – car provided on duty
Job Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £41,600 gross per annum (£20 gross per hour), dependent on experience
