Procurement Officer
Location: Belfast Salary: Upto £47,000 + Excellent BenefitsThe Opportunity
We are working exclusively with an established engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within highly regulated industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Officer to join their integrated Supply Chain team.This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing procurement activities for complex engineering projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of goods and services to demanding quality, cost and schedule requirements.The successful candidate will enjoy a varied role with exposure to strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.The Role
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring commercial value whilst supporting business objectives.Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and managing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), tender documentation and bid evaluations.Evaluating supplier proposals for both technical and commercial compliance alongside engineering, quality and project teams.Procuring goods, materials and services to achieve the required cost, quality and delivery objectives.Conducting market analysis and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement.Negotiating commercial terms, pricing and contracts to deliver best value.Managing contracts throughout their lifecycle, including amendments, variations, claims and associated documentation.Working with project and legal teams to ensure contractual obligations are understood and effectively managed.Building strong relationships with suppliers to drive performance and long-term value.Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes and systems.Producing procurement reports and maintaining accurate purchasing records.
About You
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
A minimum of 5 years' procurement and contract management experience within an engineering, manufacturing, defence, marine, aerospace or similarly regulated environment.Strong knowledge of procurement best practice and strategic sourcing techniques.Experience managing supplier negotiations and commercial contracts.Excellent analytical and commercial skills with the ability to interpret complex data.High levels of organisation and attention to detail.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or similar.Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Knowledge of UK supply chains would be advantageous.
Qualifications
Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
Desirable:
Professional procurement qualification such as CIPS, CPSM, CPP or CPSD.
