As a Basic Scaffolder, you will be responsible for the erection, alteration and dismantling of scaffolding structures while working as part of an experienced scaffolding team. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with current industry legislation and best practice.Applicants must hold a valid CISRS Basic Scaffolder Card (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and practical experience of:
Statutory regulations and safety requirements (including SG4) relating to the erection and dismantling of simple scaffolds.The types, uses and purposes of scaffold tubes, boards and fittings in common use.The correct handling, stacking and inspection of scaffold tubes, boards and fittings.Founding scaffolds on ground, concrete and steel surfaces.The safe installation of standards, ledgers, transoms and bracing.Basic tying patterns for sheeted and un-sheeted scaffolds.Work at Height Regulations relating to working platforms.Safe access systems including ladders, ladder towers and stairways.Inspection, use and operation of gin wheels.Inspection requirements for scaffolding structures.The safe erection and dismantling of independent scaffolds, putlog scaffolds, towers and birdcage scaffolds up to three lifts high using tube and fitting.Selection and safe use of scaffold materials.Installation of prefabricated beams and scaffold protection fans.Erection of scaffolds in public areas in accordance with Local Authority requirements.Installation of spurs, rakers, anchor ties and specialist fixings in accordance with current industry standards and TG4 guidance.Selection and installation of ties for both sheeted and un-sheeted scaffolds.Planning materials and sequencing work for scaffold erection and dismantling.Inspection of basic scaffold structures prior to handover.Leading a scaffold gang carrying out scaffolding operations.
You may be required to travel between project locations, with occasional overnight stays where required.Reporting Relationships

Essential Skills

Essential Knowledge
Tube & Fitting Scaffolding.Health & Safety legislation.
Desirable Knowledge
Numeracy and literacy skills.Experience with Layher, Cuplock, HAKI or Plettac scaffold systems.
Essential Experience
Trained to Basic Scaffolder level.Minimum 2 years' scaffolding experience.
Essential Qualifications
CISRS Part 1 & Part 2 Scaffold Training.NVQ Level 2 in Scaffolding.CISRS Basic Scaffolder Card.CISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS).Current Health & Safety qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).GCSE Design & Technology.
