Principal Civil Engineer

Our client, a leading consultancy in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join their talented team. This permanent role is suited for a seasoned professional experienced in INFODRAINAGE, Microdrainage, and Civil3D. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects and leading a team of engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Acting as the technical lead and project manager on multiple concurrent projects
• Ongoing development of skills and knowledge in technical and management streams
• Explaining technical concepts to colleagues and clients, ensuring clear communication
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare regulations
• Participating in and coordinating the resolution of design and development matters
• Managing project scope and deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Preparing and collating project-specific documentation
• Checking and reviewing designs independently before presenting them for further review

Job Requirements:

• Experience in the use of INFODRAINAGE, Microdrainage, and Civil3D
• Proficiency with Design Standards and Codes of Practice
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences
• Knowledge of and compliance with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Effective communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders
• Capability to mentor and guide junior staff, fostering a collaborative environment
• Experience preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports in line with National Standards
